Instructions for the Solidweb Dial-up installer

Click the link below and click on Open to the window that pops up.
Then follow the instructions below.

Click Here to run SolidWeb Dial-up installer

Click yes to install SolidWeb.

Click YES to agree to the End User License agreement and Solidweb user policies.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP users should select All Users if you wish everyone who logs in to the computer to be able to use this dialup. Check the box if you want a shortcut icon on your desktop.

Windows 98 and Windows 95 users will not see this, by default all users will be able to use this dialup and a shortcut will be placed on your desktop.

Main Login Screen
During this initial install, click properties to configure the dialer with a phone number.

Properties Screen
Click on the top Phone Book button to bring up the selection of phone numbers to choose from.

Phone Book
Make sure the Service Type is set to Modem. Select your state under the State or Province field. Choose an access number in your local calling area to avoid long distance charges. Preferred access numbers designated V.92 can provide faster connection speed.

Click OK. This will return you to the properties window.

Double check the phone number. If you normally dial ten digits, simply uncheck Use Dialing Rules and the phone number would be in ten-digit format. If you do not use ten digit dialing, click on Dialing Rules button.

If you need to edit the Dialing Rules for My Location, you should get a window similar to this screen. Make sure your area code is filled in properly (503 is used as an example, please put your area code there). Click ok and return to the properties screen.

Repeat the phone book procedure to add a backup number, if desired.

Under the options tab, you can set the idle time-out. We suggest you set it 30 minutes. This means that if there is 30 minutes of inactivity on the dialup connection, the dialer will automatically disconnect.

You may also select the number of redials the dialer tries before giving up on a phone number. Click OK to return to the dial-up login window.

Fill in your SolidWeb user name and password.

Check the Save Password box.

Click connect to establish a connection to SolidWeb.
