Getting Connected with Windows 95
Windows 95 has built-in support for connecting to an Internet provider using PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol). The lastest release of Internet Explorer includes a wizard that walks you through the steps to connect (Just double-click on the IE icon.). If you don't have the wizard you can use the following instructions.

Getting Started

To connect to the Internet, you need to have signed up for a PPP account with SolidWeb. Please have the following information ready:
  • Your SolidWeb Username
  • Your SolidWeb Password
  • Local access phone number

Since you're reading this, chances are you already have what it takes to connect to us. You just need to create a new Dial-Up Networking connection for your SolidWeb account.
1. Click START>Programs>Accessories>Dial-Up Networking.

2. Double-click on MAKE NEW CONNECTION.

3. Type "SolidWeb" in the first line. Click NEXT.

4. Enter your area code and local dial-up number:
To find your local access number, please select your State:

5. Click NEXT, then FINISH.

6. You should now have a SolidWeb icon. Right-click on the icon. This should result in a small menu. Click on PROPERTIES.

7. In this window, you will either have a Server Types tab or Server Type button. Click on it.

8. Uncheck the necessary boxes to make your window look exactly like this:

9. Click OK.

10. To test the connection, double-click on the SolidWeb icon.

11. Enter your username and password and click CONNECT.

12. If everything went well, you should get a window that looks similar to this:

TIP: To make it easier to connect, you can right-click on the SolidWeb icon and choose Create Shortcut. Windows will give you an error stating that you can't place a shortcut there and asks if you wish to place it on the desktop instead. You can then open the connection from your desktop and access your mail and web applications.

If you encountered any errors such as "you have been disconnected from the server" or "could not establish a compatible set of protocols" or anything similar, click here.
