In order to use SolidWeb, you will need to establish a
PPP connection. Config PPP 1.05 is used to configure your PPP settings.
Config PPP is used in conjunction with the MacTCP control panel or Open
Transport on Systems 6.x and 7.x.
To configure your PPP with Config PPP 1.05 you must first choose the session
settings, then configure the authentication settings.
To configure session setting:
1. Choose Control Panels from the Apple Menu.
2. Open the Config PPP control panel.
3. Next to Port Name: select Modem.
4. Next to PPP Servers, click NEW, then name the connection
"SolidWeb".
5. Click the CONFIG button.
6. Set the Port Speed to "57600" or "115k"
if you have an 56K modem, "38400" for a 28.8 modem, or "19200"
for a 14.4 modem.
7. Set the Flow Control to "CTS & RTS (DTR)".
8. Enter the Phone number:
9. Set the Modem INIT to your modem's factory default (e.g.,
AT&F, AT&F1, ATZ, etc.), or your preferred initialization string.
Refer to your modem's manual to determine the correct initialization string.
If you are unable to find the correct string, try AT&F.
To configure Authentication:
1. From the Config screen, click the AUTHENTIFICATION button.
2. Enter your username next to Auth. ID:
3. Enter your password next to Password:
4. Click OK.
5. Click LCP OPTIONS.
6. Under the Remote column, in the Authentication
row, both Want and Will should be selected.
7. Click OK.
8. Click DONE.
