Solid's Network Operations Center (NOC) is located at the Westin Building in
Seattle, Washington. The Westin is a major telecommunications building with
most major backbone providers either providing service or located in the
building. The Westin's fiber feeds have two main diverse routes. Solid
utilizes facilities on both the 17th and 23rd floors with fiber interconnecting
the two floors.
Solid has a total of 335 Mbps of synchronous transit capacity plus 100 Mbps
synchronous peering capacity available. Another 45 Mbps of synchronous peering
capacity will become available with the addition of the DS-3 to PAIX. Solid's
average utilization never exceeds 45% of the available bandwidth.
Solid monitors traffic, link-state, operational status, environmental statistics
and latency of all links and devices on our network on a continuous basis.
Notifications of problem situations are automatically logged within our system
and automatically escalated as required.
The Westin has 4 power risers, North, South, East and West all of which are
power protected by the Westin with two generators (one primary and one fail
-over) per power riser. Solid utilizes power from two or more risers.
We are UPS protected by two or more battery backup devices in case of short-term
power outage that may occur during switching power risers.
